Mangrove Species Reference is a free, static reference to the world’s mangrove species. Every in-scope species has its own page, and visitors can browse by taxonomy and other groupings and search by scientific, synonym or common name.

Scope

Version 1 covers major and minor mangrove species plus recognised hybrids (tiers 1–3). Associates are out of scope for now. The 2010 IUCN global mangrove assessment (Polidoro et al.) is used as a minimum scope check; see the sources and method.

Method

Names follow the primary taxonomic backbone POWO, cross-checked against World Flora Online, with alternative regional treatments recorded as notes. Each record lists its sources and a last-verified date. The site is generated by a dependency-free Node script from a single CSV; nothing but static files is served.
